Formae viventium
(Shapes of alive)
2022
Gallery 12:00. San Felipe Bogotá art district, Bogotá, Colombia.
These works are based on an understanding of the living understood as a complex system that, appearing in an infinite multiplicity of forms and manifestations, denotes the absurdity implicit in the attempt to explain it. The alive simply exists. I can only live it, observe it and try to understand myself -at least there- as a small part of it, a microscopic and fleeting manifestation among its many forms. For me, what I live is the complexity of all the coincidences that appear in the experience of homogeneity between territory, being and space. For me that is living. It is with this exhibition that I can moderately account for it, overwhelmed by his magnanimity.
I propose these works as BIOCIDENCES, that is, overlaps, crosses, encounters of various kinds that can only occur under very specific conditions within that infinity in which the living manifests itself harmoniously and concurrently. Since they do not respond to a linear, evolutionary process, but rather are shaped by the influence of coincident factors in their existence; already oblivious to the relationships of cause and effect; I present them as a product of the beautiful chaos in which I understand the world.
